Therapists in skilled nursing facilities are essential for providing client-centered, short-term, and long-term rehabilitation services to either assist an individual to return to their home or to attain the maximum level of function for those in long-term care.  Therapy staff are held to a minimum productivity expectation, which reflects billable time versus non-billable time.  Debate among therapists within the setting suggests that these expectations may jeopardize quality patient treatment and contributes to job burnout.  The managers in place must balance staff productivity achievement while promoting quality care and overall staff satisfaction.  The goal of the research was to determine if leadership style impacted staff’s ability to achieve productivity benchmarks and influenced staff’s overall job satisfaction levels.  The research utilized an online questionnaire in which participants rated their manager’s leadership style, and reported their efficiency achievement and overall satisfaction level.
